Thank you for trusting Baked KaLerato with your celebration. Your interest is sincerely valued. We kindly request clients to review the terms and conditions outlined at the bottom of the quotation. Please be informed that the completion of payment or deposit signifies acknowledgment and acceptance of these terms and conditions
Booking & Payments

A reservation/booking will only be secured upon receipt of a deposit or full payment. Full payment must be made for orders amounting to or less than R650. For orders R651 and more, a 50% deposit is required.

All Bento boxes & Bento cakes must be paid in full.

Kindly utilize the quote number as your reference, please don’t use personal names to prevent any potential confusion. Should we miss your payment due to the incorrect referring we will not be held liable.

Following payment, clients are requested to provide proof of payment (POP) to lerato@bakedkalerato.co.za. Please ensure the POP is in PDF format, as it contains essential details necessary for payment confirmation; no screenshots please.

Full settlement of outstanding balances is mandatory prior to collection. Cash payments are not accepted.

Please allow for a period of 6-24 hours for payment confirmation and booking arrangements. This is due to volume and diversity of transactions received daily from various banking institutions.

Upon receipt of payment, clients will receive two emails. The initial email will confirm booking details for collection, while the subsequent email will signify your deposit/payment has been received and will include a PDF document titled "Take Care Instructions."

Please note that once a cake has been baked, refunds are not provided. A cancellation fee of 50% will be applicable should you opt to cancel, with further details available in the "Cancellation Policy."
Orders & Collections

Collection Schedule: The collection window begins at 10:00 unless alternate arrangements have been agreed upon. Baked KaLerato's operating hours conclude at 18:30. In the event of non-collection by 18:30, clients may collect their order the following day from 10:00, excluding Saturdays. If not collected by Saturday, the collection will be rescheduled for Tuesday. Failure to collect the order within 3 days will result in a donation to charity, with no refund issued.

Flavor and Design Assurance: Clients are strongly advised to finalize their flavor and design choices. Once the baking process commences, alterations to the order are not feasible. In the event of an incorrect flavor baked by Baked KaLerato, clients are entitled to a partial refund equivalent to 15% of the cake's cost.

Post-Collection Responsibility: Responsibility for any damage incurred after the collection of cakes or cupcakes rests with the client. A comprehensive PDF document containing care instructions will be provided to ensure proper handling of the order.

Travel Arrangements: Clients are responsible for disclosing if the cake will be transported for more than 2 hours. This enables us to offer suitable advice regarding transportation and the necessary precautions to safeguard the cake during transit.

It is the client’s responsibility to provide all details they would like included on their order, such as name, age, colours, and any other specifications. If any information is omitted, it will be assumed that the client does not require those details to be included.

Unique Creations: Baked KaLerato does not replicate previous designs, even upon request. The cakes may be similar or may resemble the inspo picture, but not exactly. Please see the examples: on the left are client inspo and on the right our creation:

Delivery Requirement: Delivery services are mandatory for all three-tier cakes to ensure safe transportation and presentation upon arrival. Clients are required to share the correct time the event starts. Should the client choose to give the wrong time to Baked KaLerato, the baker will not stay and guard the cake. Unfortunately, that’s not a service we provide.
Delivery Policy

Baked KaLerato uses a third-party courier service for custom cake deliveries. Once your order has been booked, you will be provided with the courier’s contact details and a tracking number.

Delivery is scheduled within a four-hour time window. For example, if delivery is selected for 10:00, it may take place at any time between 10:00 and 14:00. Please ensure that someone is available to receive the order during this period. Deliveries cannot be rescheduled, and neither Baked KaLerato nor the delivery company will be held responsible for issues arising from inadequate client planning.

Delivery is not available in all areas of Gauteng.

Wedding cakes are delivered and set up by Baked KaLerato directly and are not handled by a third-party courier.

Clients are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address. If an incorrect address is supplied, a redelivery may be requested at an additional cost.

Should an order be returned to Baked KaLerato’s premises due to client unavailability or an incorrect address, any resulting heat-related damage will not be repaired or rectified.

Communication Policy

For any changes or communications regarding the order, kindly note that emails are the sole accepted mode of communication. Calls, WhatsApp messages, or other forms of messaging will not be addressed for order modifications. This policy is in place because emails provide a comprehensive and trackable reference point during the order creation process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

If our communication policy is not followed, we cannot be held liable for any misunderstandings.

Cancellation Policy
Due to the nature of our business, your deposit/payment means we need to reject other orders in order to complete yours. Cancelling your order results in a loss of income on our end, hence the strict cancellation rules. Therefore, we advise rescheduling rather than cancellation.

Should the client wish to cancel their order, A cancellation fee of 50 % will be levied on orders valued from R1000, excluding packaging costs. If the order is below R1000, clients will forfeit their payment if they choose to cancel entirely, rather than keeping it as credit for a future order. In instances where Baked KaLerato has already procured specific items for your order, clients may collect these items at their own discretion.

A cancellation fee of 100% will be levied on orders valued under R1000, excluding packaging costs. In instances where Baked KaLerato has already procured specific items for your order, Clients may collect these items at their discretion.

Refunds are processed within a turnaround time of 30 working days.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances such as a bereavement or force majeure affecting the scheduled event, clients can reschedule the order date, subject to availability, or retain the deposit for a future order with Baked KaLerato. Opting for a refund under such circumstances will incur a cancellation fee alongside the expenses for any goods specifically procured for the order.

Please be advised that it is the client's responsibility to familiarise themselves with the location of Baked KaLerato, details of which are provided in the quotation and can be easily accessed via Google Maps or Waze. Should the client opt to cancel the order due to distance concerns, a cancellation fee of 50%. In instances where Baked KaLerato has already procured specific items for your order, Clients may collect these items at their discretion.

All 3-tier cakes and up, cancelled the week of the event, will be charged a 70% cancellation fee.

Refunds can take 14-30 working days to be issued. All refunds are processed on the last working day of the month.
